Privacy Policy

The General Incorporated Association Japan Crane Game Association (hereinafter referred to as the “Association”) establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as this “Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in connection with the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as the “Services”).

Article 1 (Personal Information)

“Personal Information” means “personal information” as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan. This includes information relating to a living individual that can identify a specific individual based on the individual’s name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained therein.

It also includes data relating to physical appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information such as the insurer number on a health insurance card that can identify a specific individual from the information itself (hereinafter referred to as “Personal Identification Information”).

Article 2 (Methods of Collecting Personal Information)

When a user registers to use the Services, the Association may request personal information such as the user’s name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number.

The Association may also collect transaction records and payment-related information containing users’ personal information from the Association’s business partners, including information providers, advertisers, and advertising distributors (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Business Partners”).

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which the Association collects and uses personal information are as follows:

To provide and operate the Association’s Services.
To respond to inquiries from users, including for identity verification.
To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and other services provided by the Association to users of the Services.
To contact users when necessary regarding maintenance, important notices, and other matters.
To identify users who violate the Terms of Use or who attempt to use the Services for fraudulent or otherwise improper purposes, and to refuse their use of the Services.
To allow users to view, modify, or delete their registered information and to view their usage status.
To charge users for fees associated with paid Services.
To carry out purposes incidental to the purposes described above.

Article 4 (Changes to the Purpose of Use)

The Association may change the purpose of use of personal information only when the new purpose is reasonably determined to be related to the purpose prior to the change.

If the purpose of use is changed, the Association shall notify users of the revised purpose or publicly disclose it on this website in accordance with the method prescribed by the Association.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

Except in the following cases, the Association will not provide personal information to any third party without obtaining the user’s prior consent. However, this does not apply where permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws and regulations.

When it is necessary to protect a person’s life, physical safety, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent.
When it is particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent.
When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency, or a person entrusted by such an agency, in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the individual’s consent may impede the performance of such duties.
When the Association has notified or publicly disclosed the following matters in advance and has filed a notification with the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan:
The purpose of use includes the provision of information to third parties.
The categories of personal information to be provided to third parties.
The means or method of providing the information to third parties.
The Association will cease providing personal information to third parties upon the individual’s request.
The method for accepting requests from individuals.

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the following recipients shall not be considered third parties:

When the Association outsources all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
When personal information is provided in connection with a business succession resulting from a merger or other similar circumstances.
When personal information is jointly used with a specific party, provided that the Association has notified the individual in advance or placed the information in a readily accessible condition regarding the joint use, including the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of the parties jointly using the information, the purposes of use by those parties, and the name or designation of the person responsible for managing the personal information.

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

When requested by the individual concerned to disclose their personal information, the Association shall disclose such information to the individual without delay.

However, the Association may withhold all or part of the information if disclosure would fall under any of the following circumstances. In such cases, the Association shall notify the individual without delay of its decision not to disclose the information.

A fee of JPY 1,000 per request shall be charged for the disclosure of personal information.

Disclosure may harm the life, physical safety, property, or other rights or interests of the individual concerned or a third party.
Disclosure may significantly interfere with the proper operation of the Association’s business.
Disclosure would otherwise violate applicable laws or regulations.

Notwithstanding the preceding provisions, the Association will generally not disclose information other than personal information, such as historical information and characteristic information.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

If a user’s personal information held by the Association is incorrect, the user may request that the Association correct, add to, or delete such information (hereinafter referred to as “Corrections”) in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Association.

If the Association determines that it is necessary to comply with such a request, it shall make the requested Corrections without delay.

When the Association makes Corrections pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or decides not to make such Corrections, it shall notify the user of its decision without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)

If the individual concerned requests the suspension or deletion of the use of personal information (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use”) on the grounds that the information is being handled beyond the scope necessary to achieve the stated purposes of use, or that the information was obtained through improper means, the Association shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay.

Based on the results of such investigation, if the Association determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, it shall suspend the use of or delete the relevant personal information without delay.

When the Association carries out such Suspension of Use, or decides not to do so, it shall notify the user of its decision without delay.

Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if Suspension of Use would require a substantial amount of expense or would otherwise be difficult to carry out, and alternative measures necessary to protect the user’s rights and interests can be taken, the Association shall take such alternative measures.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

The Association may change the contents of this Policy without notifying users, except as otherwise provided by applicable laws and regulations or elsewhere in this Policy.

Unless otherwise specified by the Association, any revised Privacy Policy shall become effective when it is posted on this website.
